Experimental addon to the Firebase CLI to add web framework support
Yep! We are even working on building native Next.js SSR support into the CLI. It's still experimental but take a look at this: https://github.com/FirebaseExtended/firebase-framework-tools/
The React Framework
Why do I recommend? Our new web frameworks CLI feature is based off v2 and concurrency. We're working to make it more extensible in the future, so I would see if that works for you right now. If you need more configure, let us know! However, you do have the ability to set up the function yourself and from there you have all the control.
Appwrite - The Open Source Firebase alternative introduces iOS support . Appwrite is an open source backend server that helps you build native iOS applications much faster with realtime APIs for authentication, databases, files storage, cloud functions and much more!

I want to use Redux with Next.js and do Server-Side Rendering. Is there a good, straightforward example of how to do this? What's the "official"/default/correct approach I should start with?
