Seeing your post reminds me of when I was a noob in Django, But what I have learned being a beginner one should use a function-based model and then move forward to a class-based model. you should keep an eye on https://www.djangoproject.com/ that helps a lot and gives you a better understanding. Do more practice and you will have an understanding of when to use the functions based model,
