Enter TwitFix [GitHub link], or as you may have seen if you are in certain Discords "fxTwitter". By adding "fx" in front of the "twitter.com" portion of a tweet's URL, the tweets would once more embed (albeit in a limited fashion, but from what I've read that appears to be outside the original creator's control).

At some point during all of the above, a fork of the original GitHub was made, calling itself BetterTwitFix and using vx instead of fx (but otherwise being functionally equivalent, presumably). This version removed the tracking that was present in the original TwitFix program, and presumably will be the version that gets used going forward (due to the above-mentioned forced redirects to the post about fxtwitter shutting down).
