hi all. recently got an iPad with the goal of reading comics + manga on it. right now i'm just torrenting from nyaa and then transferring to the iPad, but i haven't quite settled on what reader to use. i tried installing paperback but it was just too much of a headache to set up. now i'm trying panels and it seems serviceable but the library function seems pretty barebones. like i was hoping for something that would recognize series and sort them that way, so that my library would just say "Chainsaw Man," "Berserk," etc. and then i could just click on that series and see all of the associated files with that series, y'know? more of how Plex or a music player would handle things. but right now it's just showing me a long list of every single comic file and their file name.
If you’re capable of self hosting, there are plex-like apps that you can run for comics/manga like Komga or Kavita, where you can organize your files in series, read the manga in your browser or in 3rd party apps using OPDS(including panels), etc.
