It's not limiting on c++ version though - I'm building https://ossia.io with the very latest clang-14 on CentOS for instance, and ship that as an appimage - don't hear many complaints. My SDK is available if you wanna use it 😁

The Firefox Flatpak for example, only supports x86_64. It's simply not realistic at this moment for those on other architectures (POWER9/ppc, ARM, etc) to make use of these alternative distribution methods. At worst, forcing the issue may cause these users to download binaries from third parties or compile from source simply to get their favourite software working.
