Generating a compose file from a running container unfortunately isn't as straightforward as it sounds. There are tools like docker-autocompose that do a good job of it, but can still pull in a lot of unnecessary values to the config, as due to Docker itself not being an orchestrator it doesn't retain the information used to run a container anywhere (that's why docker-compose exists, after all).
In saying that, this is a feature we would like to add in the future, but it's a significant amount of work to get right. We also need to consider where we would prioritize it over other features and fixes.
