Resume is very important. Think of it as a marketing tool for yourself. Try to find your degree's subreddit (e.g. /r/csMajors) and see what sort of resume/portforlio your field is looking for both visually and content wise. I found this resume maker on a compsci related subreddit which I used for my grad job applications. As for the content itself, try to mention what impact you had in your past job experience/projects. Instead of having dot points that just say you did X, you should mention you did X which resulted in Y. You can also use UNSW's resume checker.
