I'm such an "anti-crypto circlejerker" myself (a /r/buttcoin regular). We aren't fooling ourselves. Ethereum 2.0 has been "18 months away" for almost as long as Ethereum itself has existed. The latest "June 2022" estimate was made almost a year ago. We have kept an eye on the status page and the June estimate started to look increasingly unlikely to us in the past couple of months.
And flexpool.io? they are not new at all (they run a PoW ETH pool) and think it is happening too, though they are pessimists and don't think it will be ready until Q1 2023, others that are clearly not new to it think it will be before Sept.
