  • emacs-builds

Self-contained Emacs.app builds for macOS, with native-compilation support.

  • For macOS, if you want a pre-built Emacs.app bundle with native-compilation enabled, my emacs-builds project has a release available now:

  • virtual-environments

Discontinued GitHub Actions runner images [Moved to: https://github.com/actions/runner-images]

  • As for M1 support, I’m still waiting for GitHub to add M1-based GitHub Actions runners (issue).

  • InfluxDB

Power Real-Time Data Analytics at Scale. Get real-time insights from all types of time series data with InfluxDB. Ingest, query, and analyze billions of data points in real-time with unbounded cardinality.

  • build-emacs-for-macos

Somewhat hacky script to automate building of Emac.app on macOS.

  • My build script does work on M1 machines, but unlike on Intel machines, the app can’t be launched until it’s been signed. Which requires a Apple Developer program membership.

  • svntogit-packages

Discontinued Automatic import of svn 'packages' repo (read-only mirror)

  • Arch is updated already, but --with-native-compilation is not in the build options for the time being :/

  • exec-path-from-shell

Make Emacs use the $PATH set up by the user's shell

  • If cmake is available in your shell, but (executable-find "cmake") fails within emacs, have a look at exec-path-from-shell. It can be used to pull in PATH from your shell so emacs finds the same sets of executables, even in GUI mode.

  • chemacs2

    Emacs version switcher, improved

  • As a random aside, chemacs2 might also be useful if you’re switching/trying/experimenting a lot, as it lets you have multiple separate configs and easily switch between them.

NOTE: The number of mentions on this list indicates mentions on common posts plus user suggested alternatives. Hence, a higher number means a more popular project.
