One thing I am glad for is the presence of Waymo in SF has upgraded the detail on Google Maps in that city. Every curb, sidewalk, marked crosswalk, and other other feature of the streetscape now appears in Google Maps. It's really improving. Compare:

openpilot
openpilot is an open source driver assistance system. openpilot performs the functions of Automated Lane Centering and Adaptive Cruise Control for 250+ supported car makes and models.
But not to the point where they are selling kits. I think CommaAI is the closest to a kit, but it probably will never quite reach "no-human-required" autonomous driving; I don't think they're even aiming for that.
