I've looked on https://github.com/sorrycc/awesome-javascript, and none of these libraries appear to do what I want based on the description, let alone finding a category that seems to match.
Check out AJV. It wont do everything you're looking for, but it lets you validate JSON responses via declarative schemas, which you can nest and so on.
