(A support question had me find an old floppy & do some quick refresher so I could answer the support question; I left the floppy in the drive and then used the box for a QA (Quality Assurance) install test.. and the floppy had an adverse reaction on calamares ... that issue was fixed, but I don't recall any issues accessing floppies in subsequent releases either.. and I know I tested for that issue on subsequent issues including impish (Ubuntu terms again; ie. late 2021). I can't recall if I've looked for it in jammy though I suspect I haven't as almost no-one has floppy drives anyway... but there was no issue in Ubuntu up to I believe impish using any tool; but I think your issue is kernel OR kernel compile option).
