Generally the load from the VMs is spread out. I notice it more when I run updates on several at the same time, or bring up several VMs together to test something in k8s. I did also have issues running Longhorn for distributed storage in k8s that I believe was caused by high latency (apparently Longhorn has gotten more latency tolerant since then).
