For anyone who doesn't want to change DNS providers, there is the option of running acme-dns where you delegate a DNS subdomain and have that zone hosted by the acme-dns. So www.example.com is with the normal DNS provider, but auth.example.com is hosted by the acme-dns server and is authorized to provide ACME verification to the parent zone. Requires more advanced knowledge of how DNS works. :)
