Ime DX9 games are mostly a wash. There's a ton of undocumented behaviors that developers use that no wrapper fully implements (see this issue for an example of undocumented behavior), but when it comes to applications WineD3D just works better and has a reduced address space usage. I'll also be very happy to try Vulkan WineD3D for FFXHD with the essential mods. It is literally unplayable in DXVK and last time I check WineD3D's OpenGL renderer wasn't accurate enough
