Found a fix for the blurry text on external displays due to lacking subpixel rendering (.. and why aren't there more high PPI displays??!)

  • To the point: So having said that (sorry for the long intro) I found that the BetterDummy app can actually scale up my 5120x1440p ultrawide to 2880p, and then scale it back down to 1440p which results in MUCH clearer text rendering. Basically it makes macOS think it has a high ppi display, which results in different rending due to the scaling back down.
