    On Windows, a path is a sequence of unsigned 16-bit integers that ideally form valid UTF-16 data, but this is not required or enforced. It's not possible to represent all Windows paths as bytestrings nor Unicode with any typical encoding. Go currently does not bother with handling ill-formed Windows paths, making them inaccessible to Go programs.
