    The open curriculum for learning web development

    So, I am completely self-taught. Your first projects don't have to be this intricate at all, the reason I think this worked for me is that I believe that applied learning is one of the best ways to learn, but not everyone learns that way, free resources like The Odin Project and FreeCodeCamp are better if you learn in a more traditional sense.
