How do you determine if a bootcamp is legit and worth it?

This page summarizes the projects mentioned and recommended in the original post on /r/Frontend

Our great sponsors
  • InfluxDB - Power Real-Time Data Analytics at Scale
  • WorkOS - The modern identity platform for B2B SaaS
  • SaaSHub - Software Alternatives and Reviews
  • curriculum

The open curriculum for learning web development

  • Skip all and go with the Odin Project if you really need structure and consistency. Everytime you hit a hurdle, stack overflow and youtube your way to a solution. You definitely shouldn't be paying $15k for what you can find online for free.

  • Le Wagon's Setup

Setup instructions for Le Wagon's students on their first day of Web Development Bootcamp

  • I know a few people who attended and were very happy with Le Wagon in Tokyo. The program is specifically shorter and cheaper so all in all you'll end up spending about the same to live in a different country and the program is short enough that you won't even need to get a visa! I really wish I went this route many years ago rather than being self-taught.

  • InfluxDB

Power Real-Time Data Analytics at Scale. Get real-time insights from all types of time series data with InfluxDB. Ingest, query, and analyze billions of data points in real-time with unbounded cardinality.

  • crouton

    Chromium OS Universal Chroot Environment

  • I was used Crouton https://github.com/dnschneid/crouton, although I would probably tell someone to use GalliumOS. Anyway, once you install a full Ubuntu distro on your chromebook, you're able to do pretty much anything. I used Crouton at the time, but I would use GalliumOS if I was doing it today.
