How do I forward a domain to my home public ip / a ddns, possibly through namecheap but open to others?

    OK, then that's good and shows that the are open. I would look into NGiNX as a reverse proxy. Also check out acme.sh for valid SSL certs. For DynamicDNS I used to use CloudFlare with this script. Now I use headscale/tailscale to proxy everything over a VPN tunnel and terminate SSL on the headscale node for everything that's at home.
