What I would like to achieve is to make autoload script (https://github.com/mpv-player/mpv/blob/master/TOOLS/lua/autoload.lua) only kick in when the hotkey is pressed. I tried to replace the "mp.register_event" with something like "mp.add_key_binding("ctrl+alt+x", "find_and_add_entries", find_and_add_entries)" but it didn't work. Any help would be appreciated
Use https://github.com/CogentRedTester/mpv-file-browser/ instead, it has a function to load a whole directory as a playlist on a keypress, Alt+Enter by default, plus much more.
