telekasten.nvim
A Neovim (lua) plugin for working with a markdown zettelkasten / wiki and mixing it with a journal, based on telescope.nvim
There's a slew of org-mode plugins for (n)vim, notably orgmode.nvim for traditional org-mode, and neorg for a modern "vim-esque" take on text-based organisation.

Have you given either of these a try? I had just begun to use zk (for Zettelkasten) paired with zk-nvim and had wanted org-mode for a long time, but I had no idea two options that both seem fairly well-maintained exists. If so, any thoughts/opinions?

https://github.com/TimUntersberger/neogit This exists, though it is slightly different from magit in my experience.
Ultimately I ended up trying to focus more on what exactly it was that I wanted in terms of notes & task management, and realized I didn't really know. I looked at a handful of them, and came to the conclusion that my current one (with tons of extra layers on top of vimwiki) was basically following GTD (which makes sense as it was lightly based off of todo.txt which definitely takes some inspiration from Org IMO). An example of what this might look like on Org here if you are interested.
On the actual system itself (you likely know this as you'd mentioned reading other posts, but) I have Neovim compiled on my phone (directly through Termux), notes pushed up to Github using transcrypt for backups and live-synced between several devices using syncthing (which is how I get notifications on my phone, using a Raspberry Pi and systemd services to implement against orgmode.nvim's notification API).

Just dropping in to point out that a pandoc converter for Neorg is in the works here: https://github.com/Simre1/neorg-haskell-parser I have not tested it myself (as of yet) but I figured I should let you know when I saw this comment
I was referring to the zk-nvim plugin. Prior to using it, I was using telekasten.nvim, which has a few features that zk-nvim lacks:
