PGP-encrypted git remotes
I used to rely heavily of Keybase reops, but since the takeover I'm no longer confident in their longevity. An alternative option is to encrypt files yourself and use a mainstream git provider. There are utils like gcrypt specifically for this use case. That way you can be confident in the encryption AND availability.

This may be unrelated but week before last a new buggy version of the keybase client was released (v5.9.0). This is the first release since September. It has issues related to KBFS mounts that caused me to have to downgrade to the previous version. If you're seeing problems that only recently cropped up, this may relate to this new version.
