The skilled worker visa is a long term visa, and time spent on it does count towards ILR. The ICT visa (which is what you get when you do a transfer) is the one that doesn’t count towards ILR, and is temporary. If you were to get a skilled worker visa, your counter towards ILR status at that point. The duration of your skilled worker visa will be down to the company sponsoring it (they don’t have to issue it for five years right off the bat), but it can be renewed and that time counts so long as you remain on the same visa type. If you’re interested in the UK, [the government website](www.gov.uk) is the best place to start your research on the different visa types and their requirements.
