dizquetv
Create live TV channels from your own media. Access the streams using the simulated HDHomerun tuner or the generated M3U URl.
DizqueTV has been the biggest improvement to my Plex experience. It spoofs an HDHR server so that you can simulate "Live TV" within Plex's UI. This allows you to create custom channels of your Plex content.

Kodi Home Theater Software
Kodi is an award-winning free and open source home theater/media center software and entertainment hub for digital media. With its beautiful interface and powerful skinning engine, it's available for Android, BSD, Linux, macOS, iOS, tvOS and Windows.
For media players, I use Kodi with the PlexKodiConnect add-on which gives a much cleaner and more customizable interface than Plex. It also gives you more options while playing a video, for example you can stretch a 4:3 show to 16:9 to fit your entire screen. You can also choose between different themes in Kodi (my preferred being Mimic but most people use Aeon Nox Silvo). I basically use Kodi as my front-end and Plex as my backend.
