laptop-dotfiles
(for my laptops) personal collection of config files for my Linux set-up. I mostly use a cringe-looking awesome-WM "rice", neovim, and the fish shell.
I use https://github.com/tom-james-watson/Emote

I have an emoji implementation via dmenu based off of Luke Smith's dmenu emoji menu. It's on my dotfiles github repo https://github.com/blistakanjo604/dotfiles-laptop you can clone it and look for "Blista-Kanjo-Emoji" and move that folder to your ~/.local/share. You will need a custom build of dmenu though, which I also have on my repo (sorry, I know the repo is documented like shit). Let me know if u come across any issues I'll be happy to help out.
I use Jome! It took me an insanely long time to find it. It's fast, it stands alone, it doesn't rely on rofi hacks and the search works really well. Granted it's not the best looking app, but I never even thought of switching. Let me know if you find anything better!
If you want to just build your own picker, you can download emoji data from here (the above uses this. same developer): https://github.com/Mange/emoji-data/releases
