My Most Loved AWS Developer Tools & Resources

This page summarizes the projects mentioned and recommended in the original post on /r/aws

Our great sponsors
  • WorkOS - The modern identity platform for B2B SaaS
  • InfluxDB - Power Real-Time Data Analytics at Scale
  • SaaSHub - Software Alternatives and Reviews
  • terraform

Terraform enables you to safely and predictably create, change, and improve infrastructure. It is a source-available tool that codifies APIs into declarative configuration files that can be shared amongst team members, treated as code, edited, reviewed, and versioned.

  • I personally use Terraform but as you mention in the article, it comes down to personal preference. I haven’t minded the syntax change and have found it’s the best option but if you do require a more traditional coding style, I recommend CDKTF.

  • serverless-graphql

Serverless GraphQL Examples for AWS AppSync and Apollo

  • I’ve messed around with Dashbird but enough to build a solid opinion. I have more experience with and can recommend Serverless both for handling your serverless infrastructure and for monitoring.

  • WorkOS

The modern identity platform for B2B SaaS. The APIs are flexible and easy-to-use, supporting authentication, user identity, and complex enterprise features like SSO and SCIM provisioning.

  • awsume

A utility for easily assuming AWS IAM roles from the command line.

  • Haven’t tried Leapp, not sure how I’d feel about needing to swap to a UI every time. I’m a huge fan of Awsume

  • aws-shell

An integrated shell for working with the AWS CLI.
