Have you tried printing out the user after you attempt to authenticate? I’m fairly certain it will be none because Django’s authentication function will check for active user so you’ll get the invalid login response in your code. See line 48 in the source code https://github.com/django/django/blob/main/django/contrib/auth/backends.py.
