Use a reputable VPN. For those that don't know, a VPN is software that sits between your ISP and the Internet. Your ISP only ever sees you're connected to a VPN and doesn't see what sites you visit. A decent VPN doesn't record or observe what sites you visit. The folks at r/vpn have a comparison chart (of which company ethics plays a part of the scores) of VPN's. I personally use mullvad.net (€5 a month).

Share bad practices safer. If you've taken a photo, created a video or document then it contains information that can identify you (known as EXIF data), use EXIFCleaner to clean your media before sharing it online or with others.

Search safer. Google track and store your search history. You can configure your browser to use a search engine that doesn't. I use DuckDuckGo. It uses Bing's results so the accuracy is good, but doesn't track or store anything at all.
