    Standard Go Project Layout

Hello everybody, I am currently starting a project in Go and was looking for a project structure. Now I've stumbled across this https://github.com/golang-standards/project-layout but I can't seem to find out what exactly "cmd" stands for. I get that it should be the main entry point for the application(s) but what exactly does cmd stand for? All I can think of is command. Thanks for the help!
