  Powerline is a statusline plugin for vim, and provides statuslines and prompts for several other applications, including zsh, bash, tmux, IPython, Awesome and Qtile.

  

I installed powerline-status with pip so that i could use the same program for status lines on both vim andn tmux. Tmux statusbar is working fine but I can't get the vim statusline to work. The only threads I found online that discuss this issue are old (like from 2013), and none seem to help me out.
