I've made a geocoder, written in golang, that runs in the browser.

Our great sponsors
  • WorkOS - The modern identity platform for B2B SaaS
  • InfluxDB - Power Real-Time Data Analytics at Scale
  • SaaSHub - Software Alternatives and Reviews
  • agloe

📍 Agloe is a geocoder which combines Go with WebAssembly in order to parse highly compressed Open Street Map (OSM) files all in the browser.

  • Now the important stuff: You can play around with it here: agloe.vercel.app and view the source code on GitHub here. Do note that there is Google Analytics running on the vercel hosted link, so be advised (I'm a very curious person).

  • maplibre-gl-js

MapLibre GL JS - Interactive vector tile maps in WebGL2

  • Map: Maptiler & Maplibre are responsible for the beautiful map that you see. I did want to create my own headless tiler, but that seems like an even bigger project on its own.

  • WorkOS

The modern identity platform for B2B SaaS. The APIs are flexible and easy-to-use, supporting authentication, user identity, and complex enterprise features like SSO and SCIM provisioning.

  • pbf2json

An OpenStreetMap pbf parser which exports json, allows you to cherry-pick tags and handles denormalizing ways and relations. Available as a standalone binary and comes with a convenient npm wrapper.

  • Pelias: An inspiration for this project came from pelias/pbf2json, if you like maps & open source stuff, definitely check out pelias.

NOTE: The number of mentions on this list indicates mentions on common posts plus user suggested alternatives. Hence, a higher number means a more popular project.
