I'm just annoyed that tubearchivist uses ES for that very reason. Half a gig of ram plus whatever else to archive YouTube videos? Seems excessive when all I need is a front-end that is bootstrapped, grid layout, with sort by/filter options (and possibly a search) that can download links with YouTube-dlp in the backend. But I can't find time to make my own.
I didn't really take a look at what you did but you might be interested by Sonic, which sounds a bit similar. https://github.com/valeriansaliou/sonic
You actually got it right, You probably must have been stuck at https://github.com/prabhatsharma/zinc/issues/11 . It's fixed now. I have tested it and it works well. Check the updated readme for instructions.
I'm really enjoying playing with Zinc. We've been playing with it in house here with Meer (https://github.com/quadrantsec/meer) and ingesting several gigs of Suricata (https://suricata.io) and Sagan (https://github.com/quadrantsec/sagan) logs.
