The current release uses `rm -P` and `srm` because there's no simple way of wiping SSDs, and most modern systems come with SSDs instead of HDDs. There are a number of issues open on GitHub (https://github.com/poof-backup/poof/issues) that we use as placeholders for dev branches and to collect information about tools for SSD wiping. We are looking at things like https://www.howtogeek.com/425232/how-to-securely-delete-files-on-linux/ but we find that SSD block level wiping has strong vendor and non-portable SSD dependencies.
