    • FYI sequencing takes time. The first 4 sequences (3 full from Botswana and 1 partial from Hong Kong) weren’t noticed until late Tuesday/early Wednesday (depending on your location), and then they still didn’t meet the criteria even for designation of a lineage. The UK scientist who flagged them, Tom Peacock, did note that the mutations were concerning when he flagged them.
