I think Swift is flirting with the idea of ownership for Swift 6, which along with their push for a stable ABI (already done for Darwin) and efforts to make it more easily accessible across other platforms will be interesting to watch.

It also looks like they're working their way through porting their core libraries away from Objective C runtime that they're using on MacOS.
Microsoft's Verona is in research stage, which uses ownership concept inspired from Rust. It isn't clear for me if uses GC.
