  • I've been working on a desktop app for creating text-heavy static websites. It's still a little rough around the edges. You can create pages, containing text and images, preview the site locally and then upload it for static hosting. It currently only supports https://vercel.com for (free) hosting. But it also dumps the generated files (html, css) to your disk. So you can manually upload them to your preferred hosting service. You don't need an account, it works completely offline (except the upload of course). Your website (all text, images, settings etc.) is stored in a single file on your machine. You can sync that file across your devices via iCloud, gDrive or Dropbox as you please. Oh, and it's free.
