I'd start with a full-stack tutorial. That will give you a look into both sides and you can go from there. I heard good things about The Odin Project, but I haven't gone through it. Go with the JavaScript path and it should teach you how to make a fully functional app.

Whichever you do, make sure to install and use git. Maybe make an account on Github and save your experiments there. I just spent a few minutes looking, and this seems to be an alright intro to git.
