I prefer https://github.com/RRethy/nvim-treesitter-textsubjects for simplicity. You can map it to and it works in visual mode, so you just click v and it smartly selects incrementally. Love it.
It's probably easiest with the vim-repeat plugin similar to this change https://github.com/nvim-treesitter/nvim-treesitter-textobjects/pull/52/files
