Although the state and scope parameters in the OAuth2 authorization request are not required, the reddit endpoint returns an "that option is not valid" error in case of a missing state and an "invalid client id" in case of a missing scope. Both of those errors are quite missleading especially when considering they are not documented in the documentation.
