Not accurate on the g pro, it does give a low battery warning and if Linus was able to find this script for GoXLR, he should have been able to google a bit and know that Piper exists and can control rbg, button mapping and sensitivity dpi.
Yeah same, Fedora 35 here, but dwm. I use piper for controlling everything about my mouse from DPI to RGB. It's as simple as $ sudo dnf install piper and $ piper and using a point and click GUI. Much easier than navigating Logitechs website, downloading, going through install shield, probably trying to avoid getting an Ask Jeeves toolbar or McAfee trial installed on Windows.
Just means you didn't have to use github-distributed solutions for any of your Windows issues (like, for example, moving wsl to another drive, or backing up/restoring docker volumes (surprise, surprise, windows will happily run .sh files too))

VLC has been pretty nice...though I'm kinda more partial to the simple UI of mpv.
It's worth noting that all three of those are relatively new, as desktop applications go. I believe that only one of them accepts contributions. One of them is a Microsoft product, where subpar support for rival platforms may not be a huge surprise.
Same on Debian. As long as your mouse is supported by libratbag and your DE uses that (as GNO?E and its derivatives do) then you're all set. I can also configure what the DPI button does etc. via gnome-control-panel.
A surprising number of games have been rendered playable via the work of GloriousEggroll's Proton GE.
it exists, at least on KDE: https://github.com/KDE/systemd-kcm
