Not exactly 'dashboard-nvim' fork, but an alternative solution which should come somewhere close (especially if you are willing to customize shown items): mini.starter module of mini.nvim plugin (I am the author). It has a documented copy-pastable setup code in documentation. It is even slightly faster than both original dashboard-nvim and alpha-nvim. Currently under public beta-testing though, but i think it is rather stable.
