🍺 The missing package manager for macOS (or Linux)

  • Homebrew member here. Although we don't actively support macOS versions older than what Apple issues security updates for, we do try to at least keep brew itself working on 10.10 and later (I myself run 10.12 at home). OS X 10.9 was the first to ship with built-in support for TLS 1.2 (which has become a de facto minimum requirement to even browse the web these days), so there's bound to be bugs. Also, every macOS version older than 10.15.5 was hit with this issue that took a lot of work to route around. Sorry there isn't an easier answer than "try MacPorts" or "use a newer machine to pre-download everything beforehand".
