Discontinued SteamOS session compositing window manager [Moved to: https://github.com/ValveSoftware/gamescope] (by Plagman)

That said, if you play games, you might notice that the vast majority (if not all) report your resolution as a maximum of 1440p. The best way to get around this is to use gamescope. This lets you set the output resolution of a game. Example usage for a game on Steam would be to use this in your launch options: gamescope -w 3840 -h 2160 -W 2560 -H 1440 -f -- %command%. This runs the game at 4k but downscales the window to 1440p, which seems to alleviates any mouse cursor speed issues. Granted figuring out what values to set for these flags took some trial and error.
