  • I am a sysadmin as a profession but for the home stuff I meant it when I said it really is only slightly more complicated than an rpi, it's just about how much time you're willing to put into learning it. I'd start with learning docker if you don't know how to use it already. (which you can run on an rpi) From there your options expand massively because spinning up any application you want is generally only a five minute affair. There's a lot to learn at /r/homelabs /r/unraid /r/ubiquiti. First step most people here would be interested in is automating their media acquisition and viewing which can be done with the "arr" applications found here https://github.com/rustyshackleford36/locatarr
