I found an explanation as to why the node can't be accessed. Rancher-desktop that I use to have running Kubernetes cluster uses Lima VM an according to the documentation here, by default it's running in "slirp" or user-mode networking mode. This mode makes the guest vm not accessible from the host. To make it accessible one has to use vde_vmnet - I'll play around to see how to enable it in Rancher desktop. But I still don't know why localhost allows me to access the application - how is that done?
