Or if you want to stay on bash (which yes, you are using bash inside the terminal; it will be the same if you use gnome or kde or whatever) I have heard https://starship.rs/ is good.
Someone already answered you so I will just say I know the frustration of trying to figure out something that's sooo basic the information is nowhere to be found. :S And if you are interested in fun terminal prompts, check out the zsh shell which has easily installable themes that do all kinds of neato things. (And many other advantages which may or may not be or interest to you.) It is probably already installed, just type exec zsh. to get back to bash, type exit or close the window.
