Im (re-)learning rails and learning react, should I forget learning react and concentrate on Turbo & Stimulus?

This page summarizes the projects mentioned and recommended in the original post on /r/rails

  • InfluxDB - Power Real-Time Data Analytics at Scale

  • view_component

A framework for building reusable, testable & encapsulated view components in Ruby on Rails.

  • It's really great, especially with the addition of ViewComponent which will let you create re-usable, smart components like React (but server-side). Having the tag team of Stimulus and turbo throughout your view components feels like magic and is simple enough that I can think through it easily.

  • lokaler.lnu.no

A website for finding spaces to be in for Norwegian volunteer organizations

  • However, it adds a lot of overhead if you mainly use dynamic pages, and not highly interactive ones. Therefore in my latest project we are trying to use Stimulus and Turbo for everything, to see how far that can stretch before we wish we had reached for a tool like React. So far we haven't needed React for a single thing, and we're building a fairly complex app (dynamic maps, filters, search, and inline editing).

  • InfluxDB

Power Real-Time Data Analytics at Scale. Get real-time insights from all types of time series data with InfluxDB. Ingest, query, and analyze billions of data points in real-time with unbounded cardinality.
