That said, my own config works pretty well for the use cases you described: https://dotfiles.wook.kr/nvim/lua/config/lsp.lua (I am using Ultisnips). https://github.com/NvChad/NvChad, https://github.com/LunarVim/LunarVim are also great all-in-one off-the-shelf configurations that should work out-of-box.

I am also migrating to the same setup and for me, everything seems to works. You can follow this PR https://github.com/numToStr/dotfiles/pull/14 to see the config that I am using. Sadly, There is no detailed explanation.
