So you maybe used a very old starter of mine and updated it from v2 to v3, not from v3 to v4. We also didn't see any degradation in speed, as we actually improved it. If you found a bug in the core framework, please file an issue at https://github.com/gatsbyjs/gatsby
I think this article is misleading. Gatsby 4 wasn't available in July yet and the article itself explains updating my starter: https://github.com/LekoArts/gatsby-starter-minimal-blog
Just wanted to let you know on the updates. Today upgraded to Gatsby CLI version: 3.14.2 then cloned the new https://github.com/LekoArts/gatsby-themes/tree/master/examples/minimal-blog
